C is for Camel spin

The camel, is a spin, where you are rotating and your leg is parallel to the ice.  This spin maybe took me about a year to get nicely.  It is very challenging and it is very hard to stay centered and balanced because, your leg is swinging your body all around, which could make you completely off balance!

I end with a much faster spin called a scratch spin.  You usually end the camel with that spin.  This was taken yesterday. :)

Thanks for watching!

  1. *My attempt at the camel spin would result in a number of 'C' words: crash, concussion, cast, etc. I am in awe of people who have a talent for skating. It's so fun to watch. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Ooo. Excellent! I watched our local skating club show last weekend and was fascinated. Some skaters make it look so easy, but clearly, it is not. What I love about skaters is that they learn how to fall, then get right back up again. A metaphor for life!

  8. My, aren't you talented...and a blogger/writer as well. That is very encouraging. If I attempted to do a camel I would certainly be yelling, "I've fallen and I can't get up!"

Hey, I have a hard enough time walking. lol
